Abstract

This study examines the role of cultural diplomacy in strengthening regional cooperation between Pakistan and Iran within South Asian and Central Asian forums, particularly through the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO). The research explores how cultural exchanges, shared heritage, and regional cultural initiatives contribute to diplomatic relations and soft power development between the two countries. Using secondary data from academic literature, official reports, articles, and policy documents, the study analyzes historical and contemporary political and cultural dimensions of Pakistan-Iran relations, including diplomatic cooperation, geopolitical considerations, and regional security concerns. The findings reveal that cultural affinities, religious ties, and cross-border cultural interactions significantly enhance mutual understanding and support regional stability. Cultural diplomacy plays a vital role in promoting peaceful cooperation and strengthening bilateral relations in regional forums. The study recommends increasing cultural exchange programs, academic collaboration, and regional cultural initiatives to further improve Pakistan-Iran relations and support sustainable diplomatic engagement in the region.
